5,665,700 crimes were recorded by police in England and Wales in the 12 months to July 2026, 96.4 per 1,000 residents and almost unchanged on the year before. Police force areas, districts, towns and large-city neighbourhoods have their own pages, with trends back to August 2017. Greater Manchester Police has published almost no street-level crime data since mid-2019, so Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Wigan are not included in these figures.
